Founded in 1974, The De Hoyo’s founded Matamoros Meat Market at this location. In 2006, the Laurenzo family acquired the market from them and changed it into The El Tiempo Market. The Laurenzo’s are a Houston-based family who, operate 4 businesses in Houston, including El Tiempo Cantina and 1308 Cantina.
